Open Data in the Labour Market

Connecting people and jobs.

Cognizone is the "technical arm" behind the European classification of Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) which is meant to be a reference language for employment and education, to create a shared understanding about skills, learning and occupations across borders and languages.

ESCO helps to connect people with jobs, education with employment and to analyse information on skills demand.

This project is part of the Europe 2020 strategy and ESCO v1 was officially released during the ESCO conference that took place in Brussels on the 9th and 10th of October 2017.

Cognizone has been involved in the design and implementation stages of the new Europass regulation from the EC, including

  • the initial modelling of the Europass Learning Model

  • the business analysis of the interoperability features of the platform

  • the harmonization of the Member States qualification/accreditation/learning opportunity data into one data storage ensuring data persistence
